Radiology Directors / Managers: Radiology managers are in charge of supervising radiology departments at medical institutions such as hospitals, healthcare centers, and medical offices. Duties performed by these managers include supervising staff members’ work, ensuring the appropriate equipment is functional, making sure needed supplies are in stock, and directing their department to meet all organizational goals. In all tasks, radiology managers must meet departmental quality standards and relevant legal requirements (such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA). They help develop and implement new programs, procedures, and policies; they must also review them periodically and make any changes as needed. Additionally, managers provide guidance, feedback, and discipline to employees as necessary; they must also ensure all employees are properly trained. They also insure compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MSQA) and various other federal regulations such as 21CFR.
