Clinical Engineering Directors / Managers: Function as primary administrative contact for executive leadership on biomedical technology or Clinical Engineering issues. Directs the activity of the Clinical Engineering Department in the selection, procurement, and delivery of Biomedical/Clinical equipment and services. Ensures that all program elements are designed and implemented to comply with Joint Commission, CMS and other regulatory and inspection agency requirements, guidelines, and standards. Develops annual goals and objectives related to supporting the growth and development of clinical engineering in response to present and future needs. Develop and manage annual operating budget of the Clinical Engineering Department. Is typically trained at the Bachelor’s Degree level in Clinical Engineering. Can also be certified by the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE).
