Biomedical Equipment Supervisor: Functions as the primary responsible contact at the Clinical Engineering (CE) Department or Biomedical Equipment Service Department. Supervise the repair and maintenance activities performed by CE/BMET staff. Provide on-site leadership for all components of the medical equipment management program. Participates in the development of departmental and entity continuous quality improvement initiatives. Maximizes patient safety by supporting proper use, application, and operational performance of patient care equipment. Acts as technical resource to Clinical Engineering or Biomedical Services staff for repair and maintenance activities on selected equipment and related systems. Supervisors typically have a minimum of 8 to 10 years as a BMET before attaining a supervisor position.
