Sterilizer Service Specialists

Sterilizer Service Specialists: Functions as the primary person responsible at the Biomedical Service or Clinical Engineering (CE) Department for the repair and scheduled service (PM) of sterilization equipment. Supervises and / or repairs all products that provide clinical sterilization in healthcare organizations. The equipment that are sterilized includes Endoscopic Flexible and Ridged Scopes and surgical instruments. Participates in the development of departmental and entity continuous quality improvement initiatives. Maximizes patient safety by supporting proper use, application, and operational performance of patient care equipment. Acts as technical resource to Clinical Engineering or Biomedical Services staff for repair and maintenance activities on sterilization equipment and related systems. Equipment manufactures include Steris, Getinge, and AMSCO.
